The filling of the Holy Spirit: My first prophetic painting

My friend Mike took me to a worship night a few years back, it was the first time I have ever heard of prophetic painting. When we were there people worshiped through singing and pray. Artwork covered the walls. I felt like the Holy Spirit was pouring into the people and they were pouring into each other. This was one of the first times I realized God could use art to communicate, ever since he has continually inspired my artwork.

Today I have had a check list with an endless stream of tasks that in my head I must get done. I once had a woman tell me when I was in Africa, “For you Americans it is all about the tasks you get checked off your checklist you have, you guys value the tasks, here we are arrive late sometimes because we ran into someone and stopped to have a conversation with them, here the relationships are most important.”  Although I do think it is important to be responsible and love the feeling of achieving a goal or even just checking off the task from my list, I fall into this trap too often. Today we had traditions service at my church it is when we get together in the evening and sing several hymns and listen to some scripture. I love going to this.
